ParaDocs Ambassadors are volunteers who keep festival crowds safe: looking out for anyone who might need a hand and getting the medical team to them fast. No medical background or experience required.
It’s a long day on your feet, but you’re never out there on your own. Shifts usually run 10 to 12 hours, you’ll work in pairs with a supervisor on the radio whenever you need one, and meals are covered while you’re at the festival.
Small teams, walking the crowd all day. We’re part of the event, not standing off to the side of it.
The person who’s overheating. The one who got separated from their friends. The one who’s clearly not okay but hasn’t asked anyone for help.
We hand out water provided by event production and keep the crowd drinking it. A friendly reminder goes a long way when someone’s been dancing in the sun all day.
When someone needs real care, we bring the medical team to them. That handoff is the whole job.
We’re not EMTs, and we don’t provide medical treatment, diagnosis, or medical guidance. What we do is find the person who needs help, stay with them, and either walk them over to the medical team or get the medical team to them, because plenty of people who’d never walk up to a uniformed medic will talk to someone who feels like part of their world.
Ambassadors aren’t a loose group of volunteers. We work as part of the event’s medical operation, so when an Ambassador finds someone who needs help, that call goes straight to the people who can respond, with an exact location.
You’ll need to be able to stand and walk for long stretches, and to get yourself to events. Everything else we’ll show you.
